6 Years in Business!

In celebration of our 6th year in business next month, Beadygirl .com will have a revamped website. I am doing a "spring-cleaning" of the site, so you won't be seeing much updates on the current site. I look forward to presenting the "new" site by next month.

On classes wise, we are conducting "Beaded Beads" on 1 May and "Tiffany Earrings" on 30 May. Many students are already asking me about the June classes. I have decided to conduct the "Intricate Oval Links Bracelet". This is a 2-session class and more details will be available by early May. I have brought in some new colours of the permanent finish seed beads which I hope to use for the class.

New jewellery will be added at Beads Coffret and new project kits at Beads Cage in May.

So, please be patient with me while I try to get all ready by May!

Wood Beads

New Class in May - "Tiffany Earrings"

This project is one of my favourites; simple and versatile. In this class, you will be learning the tubular peyote stitch to bezel the Swarovski crystal rivoli. This technique can be applied to other cabochons bezelling so it is a great skill to learn. Class participants will also be given instructions on how to bezel a larger teardrop rivoli.

SPECIALS FOR STUDENTS

1. You can purchase the big Swarovski teardrop rivolis at S$6 each (usual price $6.50-$6.90) on class day itself.

2. If you do not have basice peyote knowledge, you can purchase our Pearly Ring project kit at S$32 (usual S$36) which teaches you the flat, even count peyote stitch.

New Products - Adjustable Ring Bases on SALE!

These adjustable ring bases come in Bright Silver, Antique Brass, Antique Bronze and Bright Gold. Each is S$1.50 (usual S$2.50) but you have to purchase a minimum of 4 units (you can mix & match the colours).

I am selling them at a low price because the sizes of these rings are larger, starts from Size 7 1/2 (when the ends are closed up). For me, only my middle finger is large enough to fit the ring. There are only 10 of each colour.

Pearly Netted Necklace Project Kits

New project kits for Pearly Netted Necklace are now available for sale online. Not only will you learn the construction of the full necklace piece but also to create your own toggle clasp (basic peyote stitch knowledge is required) which has not been taught by me before.



If you have not tried our Pearly Netted Bangle project before, you are required to purchase both manuals (additional S$10 for the bangle manual, materials at extra costs if you need) to familiarise yourself with the technique.

Lilac Gemstones Kit - S$36

These natural Lilac stones have a pale lilac tone on them. Honestly, the first look at the strand itself may be disappointing because the colour looks dull. However, after they were stitched onto the necklace, they give a very natural appeal.

I have used Size 11 Czech Rep. Opaque Purple seed beads for the project. As the bead holes are smaller, stitching with double threads can be quite challenging. I actually broke 4 needles. Thus, for the project kit, the seed beads will be replaced with the permanent galvanised silver seed beads. However, if you like to work with the purple seed beads, let me know and I will put together the materials for you.


Mahogany Obsidian - S$40

The Mahogany Obsidian gemstones are a mixture of brown and black. I have paired them with gold seed beads.


Green Serpentine - S$34

The Green Serpentine gemstones look like olive green. I have paired them with silver seed beads.


Other Stones

My first necklace was made with Amazonite gemstones. They are in sizes from 3mm to 8mm. They are only available with special order only. Each kit costs S$76.

If you wish to work with Swarovski crystal pearls, the investment is approximately S$70 (based on market selling price of the pearls).
